Project Management Intern

POSITION OVERVIEW

A Project Management intern will work as a continuous point of contact for many of our customers. The Project Management intern will receive updates and break-fix requests from customers & internal employees, via email and phone, and will either execute them directly or assign them to the appropriate team member for action. The intern is responsible to ensure that updates are completed correctly and in a timely manner and that customers are followed up with when promised.

It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure that the customer is not only happy, but thrilled with the work provided.

The Project Management Intern will be required to learn to use our internal & proprietary tools, as well as how to manage web content in the following open source platforms:

  • Wordpress
  • Drupal
  • Joomla

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Do great work. If you are not able to do great work, make your manager aware so we can address
  • Engage in activities that thrill your customer. Every customer is different, so this takes some active learning. It starts with identifying what is expected by your customer, come to agreement on what is achievable, and exceed these expectations
  • Be profitable in your projects. This means managing outside spend + hours to ensure we are profitable on projects. Identify the times when you are unable to be profitable while meeting objectives 1 and/or 2. We believe that if you meet objectives one and two, objective 3 will follow. If not, alert your manager

OUTCOMES & EXPECTATIONS

  • Working directly with project managers and support team and facetime with teammates on a daily basis
  • Logging tasks in a time entry system
  • Using Project Management software to manage tickets, tasks and checklists
  • Building out awesome web experiences by building pages, features and blog content
  • Research to support digital marketing campaigns and programs
  • Preparing content guidelines for content development and editorial development
  • Develop successful relationships with your team members
  • Develop successful relationships with your customers
  • Perform the daily tasks associated with any Upward position
    • Time entry
    • Responsiveness, reliability, and reasonable follow-up
    • Providing insight for customers, not simply executing
    • Being the customers advocate


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Interest in growing in knowledge in all kinds of technology and especially websites
  • Extreme attention to detail and ability to execute in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work within multiple Content Management Systems to edit website content -- experience preferred but not required.
