Here at Genessa Health Marketing, we’ve been hard at work exploring the marketing universe one showcase showdown at a time. If you didn’t have a chance to check out our last blog post, we recently launched a new internal initiative that brings all Genessa employees together once a month for a showcase showdown to discuss a new innovative idea, tool or resource. This month we discussed Prezi, a cloud-based presentation tool. Prezi has been on the scene for about three years now. From its website, “Prezi is a virtual whiteboard that transforms presentations from monologues into conversations: enabling people to see, understand and remember ideas.” Okay, that’s nifty language. But, here’s the deal. Prezi is not PowerPoint. It’s way cooler and less boring. It enables you to zoom in and out, create shapes and angles and takes your audience on an interactive ride. Since Prezi has been out on the market for a few years, we aren’t going to bore with you with the basics. Instead, we’re going to discuss Prezi’s new features and all of the things you didn’t know you could do!
Embed a Prezi into a webpage.
Similar to a YouTube video, Prezi gives you the HTML code you need to easily embed your presentations into a webpage. This feature also offers SEO value. So, make sure you fill your presentations with good keywords!
Embed PDFs with links.
Now, if you embed a PDF into your Prezi, your links stay active and you can easily visit webpages for further demonstrations during your presentation.
Since a Prezi lives online and can be made public, you can easily share the link to your Prezi on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and more.
Insert Google images without ever leaving Prezi.
Yes, that’s right. You can do an image search in Prezi and insert directly into your presentation.
Use 3D backgrounds.
Whoa. Now you can use 3D backgrounds to add greater depth to your images and improve your audience’s experience even more.
Create a branded template.
Prezi now gives you the option to edit the CSS code and create your own customized template.
Go outside the box.
You can find additional templates outside of what Prezi offers through third party websites such as Prezzip.
Black out your screen.
If you want to keep your audience focused on you and not your Prezi, you can now press the ‘B’ key during your presentation and temporarily black out your screen.
Add sound.
In celebration of reaching 20 million users, Prezi finally added a sound feature giving you the ability to add background music and voiceovers to your presentation.
Collaborate better.
Anyone with internet access has access to Prezi giving you the ability to easily collaborate using the new collaborative toolbar. There you have it. We hope you are as eager as us to get started with these new features. If you’re wondering how you as a health care organization can use Prezi, consider the tool to present your next community report or as a way to present educational material to your community. Remember, you can embed your presentations on your website and share them on social media to help spread your message. Want Genessa Health Marketing to help you build a Prezi for your next community report or presentation? Let us know. We’re happy to help.
